Aflatoxins and Mold in PeanutsUpdated a day ago
The peanuts we use have been lab tested and are both mold and aflatoxin free.
Additionally, in case any peanut source ever had any traces of mold / aflatoxin it is relieving to know that our Gut Nuts fermentation process would further neutralize any contamination.
According to Science Direct:
Studies demonstrate 100% aflatoxin reduction in peanut meal using anaerobic solid fermentation with lactic acid bacteria (LAB)13. Heat pretreatment combined with LAB fermentation shows particularly high efficiency in biotransforming aflatoxins B1 and G13.

According to Perplexity:
"Lactofermentation is a proven and effective method for reducing aflatoxin contamination in peanuts. It works by inhibiting mold growth, binding aflatoxins, and enzymatically degrading them, with reductions of up to 97% reported in controlled studies."
