Shelf Life and StorageUpdated a year ago

You can refrigerate our products after opening if you like, but it is not needed. Outside the fridge, they last 2 years from production date, which is stamped on the jar.

We do not recommend refrigeration for our products because it can introduce moisture, thus decreasing shelf life. It also decreases the flavor and changes the texture. However, we don't consider any of this "harming" the product, just changing it.

The reason our almond butter does not need to be refrigerated is because we dehydrate the almonds after sprouting. We dry them to the degree that there is actually less moisture than when the almonds come off the tree. Low moisture means a long shelf life. Almonds already last for up to 2 years after harvest, so if they are even drier than in those conditions, it means they can last as long or even longer then when they are fresh.

Just take care not to introduce moisture, double dip, or leave the lid off for too long if you want a long shelf life!
